Jacob 3:1 & 2...

Man Oh Man where do I begin with this past week?! This past week was the last week of the transfer and so me and Elder Adams were gonna do everything in our power to meet the goals we set and just do the best we could, and Looking back on the week there were areas that we could have done better in but overall we were both really happy about the work that we were able to get done. The last 6 weeks have flown by its unreal! Its been a great transfer, a lot of stretching and growing, which is always good. The news is that me and Elder Adams will be staying together another 6 weeks! Which means that at the end of this next one not only will I have been in Cypress for 6 months I will have been out on the mission for almost 9 Months! I don't know about y'all, but this is all just going by way too fast.

So let me talk about the past week. First of All I love this ward, area and the members here, it really dawned on me this past week how much I really love these people. The members here this past week have been so ready and willing to help us out any way they can, its so great! We really wouldn't be able to see the success we're are seeing without them. Yesterday at church surprisingly everyone we invited came! It was literally a Miracle, we walked into gospel principles and it was fuller than its ever been. We were Smiling So big the whole day, we probably looked like fools, but we were happy ones. A part member family we've started to work with came to church. The story behind them is that the mom of the family hasnt been to church in a while and we had thought to put her in our nightly plans, not knowing what to expect. So when we went by we had a member with us and she answered the door, she immediately started to break down. She was happy to see us but crying at the same time. She said that God was knocking at her door. She wanted a blessing and her home wasn't very convenient so we went to the church and just talked to her for a while. She really wants to come back to church, she loves her family and wants the very best for them and wants her husband and their recently 8 year old son to have the gospel too. We were able to give her a blessing of strength and comfort and it was just a really spiritual experience. And the next day not only she, but her husband and their son were at church!!!! Its was So Awesome to have them there. The dad participated a lot in class and they loved being there and plan to start coming every week, and we plan on going over tonight to teach them. The Lord works in ways that are best for each and every one of his sheep, and he knows which sheep need to be found. And its so humbling and such a blessing to be a part of this work.

There are so many other good things that happened this week, but just for lack of time I'm gonna have to cut back. So I'll just tell yall about Mike and how he is doing. We went over to his house last night with a member and we read out of the Book of Mormon with him. We read out of 2 Nephi 29 which was the chapter he was currently on. It was a really simple thing to do but the spirit was definitely there. I usually describe the spirit as strong but it was more than that it was a soothing, peaceful, uniting spirit. Mike is doing so good though, he is progressing although slower than most he is still reading the Book of Mormon, watching Mormon Messages in his freetime, and he said something that really changed things last night. We gave him a talk last week about praying and receiving revelation and he really enjoyed it, he said, "I've been praying all my life only thanking god for what I have and not wanting to ask for things, but maybe I should start to ask for things... maybe I SHOULD be praying to know what path God wants me to take." It was Soo Amazing to hear him say that! It's been a process with Mike, but it has been so fun and a time of learning to be able to work with him, share with him, and become friends with him.

Well, that's all the time I have, but I just want all of you to know how much I love you. That I really do miss you, but seeing the good y'all are doing and the ways that you're being blessed makes it okay to go through this time apart. Thanks for always thinking of me and supporting me. The Lord is watching over us. I cant wait to tell all about the coming week, until then, Godspeed!

Love, Elder Page

P.S. I was at the Missionary departure fireside they do every time missionaries go home and a missionary I served with in Long beach came up to me and asked me if I had a brother named Dallin and I said yes, and he said he met Lisa Bells daughter and she told him and his companion all about Elder Page (Dallin). I thought that was pretty cool. Such a small world.

An afternoon in Greensboro...

Saturday Steve had a leadership meeting in Greensboro with Elder Todd Christofferson...wow, wish I could have been in attendance at that meeting! We did get a taste of it with all that he shared with us later that day. Abigail and I went to visit Grandpa Jack. He was so excited to see her and could not believe how much she had grown up. It was a sweet visit for those two as she shared with him her mission and also reminded him about trials and why we go thru them. We also went by to see Aunt Betty, she is in Rehab recovering from a fractured ankle. Abigail kept saying it was like seeing Grandma Peggy (which I am sure was comforting to her) And you can not go to Greensboro and not make a stop at Yum Yum Icecream! Soooo good! and it was especially since it had been a long time coming.
It was a wonderful day with family, and sweet reunions.

Alma 26: 35-36...

Guess what?! I'm here for another six weeks in South Port! I am just incredibly happy with it, and I'm also very aware that is it pure inspiration that I'm here another six weeks! The things that are happening here in South Port just surprise me every day, and increases my testimony that Heavenly Father is even aware of me and Sister Hall in this little seaside town of South Port. I'm grateful I get to know the members, area, and the wonderful people we're teaching even more. This past week flew, yet again. Also we had four seasons just about every day! But through it all, we've seen so much progress. The biggest thing that has changed me this week is that when we plan, we only plan what we know, and Heavenly Father takes care of the details. So basically on Friday night, we sat down to plan, and had 4 hours to find. We were thinking and thinking where to go, and couldn't figure it out. So we knelt down, and asked God. When we did, we just felt like we should go to Walnut Street. The next morning I forgot that I needed to renew my bus pass, so that put a dent in our plans, but we just went with it. We started to walk to town to get my bus pass and it took us an hour to get there (usually is a 10 minute walk) because of the many people we talked to and were actually listening. Then after we got my bus pass, we decided we could just walk to Walnut street. As we walked, and talked to everyone we saw, it took us another hour and a half (should've taken 20 minutes) because of the amazing people we ran into! Me and Sister Hall were just in complete shock that we hadn't gotten a solid 'no' all day! That NEVER happens! We then realized that is was because we as humans, can only do so much. Heavenly Father couldn't have us plan and let us know where we need to be every minute of the day because it would be too much! But just by the Lord inspiring us to go to Walnut street, and me forgetting about my bus pass, that he was able to have us in the EXACT spot and the EXACT moment those people would walk by. I know that Heavenly Father is very aware of us, every single one of us! I know that by being diligent and obedient, that He has to bless us! the best part is that the same exact thing happened on Sunday with the soon to be mom. I just am so EXCITED! I'm so sorry this is all over the place, my brain is all over the place. But I'm happy. I love this work. I love learning to completely hand over my will to the Father.

I hope that you will remember to say your prayers! I love you all!

also this is Alma (a book in the Book of Mormon. Alma was a prophet!)

35 Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.

36 Now if this is boasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God, who has been mindful of this people, who are a branch of the tree of Israel, and has been lost from its body in a strange land; yea, I say, blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of us, wanderers in a strange land.

We were glad to see a few of our family and friends last night. Did not get many pictures...totally forgot...oops!
SO glad that so many family could stay and have lunch with us after church, always my favorite part. And if anyone gets a hankering for ice cream, you can head on over to our house. We have a lot left over from last night!

She's Home?!?!...

Hey Everybody! This past week has been a pretty good one. The weather Here has been Sooo Nice. Its probably the first time on my mission I've really appreciated the sunny, cool breeze and 70*. We are pretty spoiled here, I know. But holy cow, let me just say, Where did the last Year and a Half Go??? Abby is Home, I mean I knew it was coming, but to see the pictures of here home kinda made me say, Holy Moly time flies! Abby Looks so good, and very happy, which was so nice to see. I'm pretty jealous though that she is probably playing with Scarlett at this point. Abby has been such an example for me not only since I've been on my mission but ever since she left, I really saw the Faith and the love that she had in the lord and Its been nice being able to try and shadow that. I Love you Abby, and cant wait to see you 'Soon'.
As far as the missionary work goes for this past week its been good. The time me and Elder Adams are having to serve and spend with one another has been a good time! We are really enjoying ourselves. Its hard to do missionary work if you're not happy, but I can say we have been pretty happy the past month or so. I really do hope I get to stay another 6 weeks here in cypress but I could see myself being transferred, I guess we'll find out this week.

An experience I wanna share from earlier this week really was something special. So on Tuesday night we had members coming out with us and we had a few set lessons with a few of our investigators. We were really excited and we prepared and studied for these investigators that same morning. But unfortunately between the times of like 5-6 we had all of our set lessons cancel on us which was pretty discouraging. We had members coming out with us and so to try and make the night as productive as possible we thought of people we could go and visit. So we began the evening of work, just trusting that we could still have a good night. To make a long story short, we were, despite the last minute cancellations, able to still go by and teach 5 people, a few less-actives and a couple of our investigators. including Mike. It was crazy how an evening of canceled lesson and unsure plans turned into a night of spiritual experiences and good visits with these members and investigators. Looking back it made me realize that as long as we are diligent, doing our best and preparing ahead of time, regardless of peoples agency the lord will bless us and use us to bless those he knows and loves. And that night was a good example of that. The week as a whole was a learning and growing experience, as are most weeks, but this one was nice. Other than the fact after only like two weeks we've already lost the car. Some missionary in long beach rolled his stinkin ankle playing basketball and so with the lack of cars in the mission they decided to take ours away. It was hard at first, but we are enjoying our bikes and having fun with them, so its all good, maybe we'll get the car back soon. I'm riding safe, doing my best and having fun. The mission is a blessing even when its hard. But I am beginning to appreciate the long hard days because I always feel stronger and better off after going through them. Refiner's Fire is Real.

Well, I hope the week for all goes well. I Love Y'all So much and think about you everyday. Keep me in your prayers and thank you for all that you do for me.
Be safe, love life, and I'll email next week!

Love, Elder Page

Leaving Chile....

The day she left Vina del Mar, Chile. Goodbyes with President and His Wife.

Proverbs 3:5-6....

It was another more than tolerable week weather wise! This whole weekend I couldn't even be bothered to wear gloves and was able to go without one of my layers! It's strange how the smallest things make the biggest difference! Spring time is coming!

This week was the fastest one on record for me. I don't feel like I ever absorbed what I did yesterday night because we've just been so busy! The main thing we were busy with was with Rob. Earlier last week we had to reschedule the chapel tour to Thursday, but when we were talking about that, he asked if we had a Bible he could borrow. So of course we said yes, and set a time to bring it to him. When we met with him, we hadn't planned for it to become a lesson, but it did. It was definitely one that I hadn't expected, but was probably one of the most powerful lessons I had been privileged enough to teach with Sister Hall. He addressed his concerns to us, and I think that there is a certain level of trust that the Lord has for us when it comes to His children. Rob opened up completely and we were then better able to know what has been really keeping him back. Also Sister Hall shared an experience with him (one that I had never even heard because she doesn't talk about it) and it opened up a greater level of trust and understanding between us and Rob. Then on Thursday we were able to tour the chapel with Rob and Sister Hindly (who funnily enough grew up with Rob, and then we asked her to fellowship and she met Rob again, she was shocked!). I swear, chapel tours are the BEST thing ever! As we walked around with the chapel with Rob, he was better able to understand the church and to come to know how normal us Mormons are! Haha but seriously, his heart was softened! I just loved seeing him walk around and look at all of the paintings, and just become comfortable with the building. At the end, as we were about to leave, we were going to say a prayer, when I felt that we needed to do a kneeling prayer (to become more humble before the Lord). Never on my whole mission have a done a kneeling prayer with an investigator, but I felt that we should. And from my past experiences with the Holy Ghost, I knew that I just needed to speak! So I asked if we could do a kneeling prayer, and Rob just so easily said yes. He even almost offered the prayer. 4 weeks ago this man didn't believe in God, now he is almost praying. I love this work! Yes, it's hard. You're tired at the end of the day. And you get more no's than yes's, BUT I know that I am here for a reason. It's always worth it at the end of the day!

Also Colin is progressing brilliantly! He's going to be ordained as an Aaronic Priesthood holder (a man who is given the same power that Jesus Christ has that allows him to do certain sacred acts such as baptism and to pass the sacrament in the name of Jesus Christ) next week! :) It's fun to see that progression!
Remember to always say your prayers and to especially pray for the gift of charity :)

Love you alllll!!!
Sister Miller
