Elder Pages new Companion Elder Allred

Another busy week for Elder Page, but what a sweet one it was. They are teaching a guy named Dave. It was nothing less than a miracle he said.

"We got
a referal from the elders in newport, elders cunningham and vaha. they were teaching a
recently reactivated member (she was actually reactivated by Elder
Allred, my companion, he just came from Newport). Anyways, she refered her brother
funny thing is that when we got the address, we realized that he lives in our
apartment complex. It's not even a minute walk away. So saturday night, we went by not
really knowing what to expect but when we knocked on the door he let us right in and was
really friendly. He actually lives with his mom right now, so it's her apartment and he's
living with her. He has really been struggling over the
past 5 years. He has really been humbled by his experiences
as of late and is really looking to change. And we actually found out that his mom, was baptized but hasn't been to church in probably 30 years or so! So we taught
the first lesson on saturday night and challenged him to be baptized. In the middle of
me asking him he cut me off and said, "yeah, of course! I haven't been baptized but
even if I had I think I'd do it again just as a sign that I'm starting my life
over." We set the date for sept. 12th, which is 2 weeks away. We may have to move it
based how he is doing, but the bottom line is that he is
getting baptized! The neat thing is that we invited both him and his mom to come to
church yesterday and they agreed to come and had a great time. It was really neat to see
his mom especially b/c she told us that since she left the church she has attended tons
of different churches but could never find a place where she felt comfortable and
yesterday and church she got teary-eyed more than once and it seemed like she had just
fallen right back into where she felt welcomed and loved. Our ward really did an amazing
job of being friendly and making them feel welcome which really is so important for
investigators. We actuall went back last night to teach them again and we took a member
with us. It was one of the most spiritual lessons I've been a part of in
months. It has been a really great experience so far and
something that I really needed. This area is really tough and we've been struggling
lately to know how to find more people to teach and so this was a miracle that we've been
praying for. "

It was so wonderful to hear of their experience this week. I know that so many have been praying for their success in finding those to teach. Prayers are answered!

Hey Lisa,
Looks like he had a great week! So happy, and can't believe his time is coming up soon as well. His mission has gone by fast for me. I guess when it not your son,it makes a difference!
